Recommended Vitamins for Women in their 20s

kpprx1 • Jan 18, 2018

Given the peak of their health, many women in their 20s see themselves as invincible against diseases. This leads them to neglect diet & exercise and heighten the risk of medical problems in the future. This is why we at Kearny Park Compounding Pharmacy tell all our customers that vitamins are important for every one of all ages.

If you are in your 20’s or near 30’s, we advise that now is the time to start taking vitamins. One can never be too careful in preventing diseases. Given the daily hustle in work or school, there is also no harm in having vitamins to boost one’s health. Below are some of our recommendations.

Vitamin C

There is a reason why many refer to vitamin C as “liquid gold.” Aside from its obvious help in preventing common colds and flu, this vitamin is a great anti-aging component. Taking vitamin C during her 20s is a great preventative measure against skin aging, particularly wrinkling. It also prevents heart and eye diseases and iron-deficiency anemia.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is vital in calcium and phosphorus absorption, and in doing so, lessening the risk of osteoporosis. Also, this vitamin is great for breast cancer prevention. Studies show that regular intake of vitamin D, whether through supplements or food, can reduce the risk of the said cancer by 50 percent.

It is also highly recommended for women living in the northern regions to take vitamin D supplements because of their less exposure to the sun.

Calcium

Working hand in hand with vitamin D, calcium is mainly for the health of bones. It is important to get started with calcium supplements during a woman’s child-bearing years because pregnancy can greatly weaken the bones.

Folic Acid

Folic acid is important during pregnancy in order to avoid neural tube defects, premature birth, and malnourishment, and restrictions in fetal development. Even without pregnancy, women still need it for cell growth and formation. Folic acide greatly prevents heart diseases, breast cancer, and depression.

Iron

Heavy and irregular periods can lead to iron-deficiency anemia. Iron can prevent this from happening as it is responsible for red blood cell production and distribution of oxygen to the blood. It has been proven that women in their 20s who regularly take iron supplements have more energy to face work or school.

Here at Kearney Park Compounding Pharmacy, we understand the hassle of having to manage one’s vitamin regimen. This is why we strongly believe that compounding can greatly help in that department. To get yourself acquainted with how compounding can help you, please give us a call and our staff will be happy to assist you regardless where you may live in the DFW area.
