What to do if a birth control dose is missed?

It depends on how many and when you miss the pills. For combination pills, see the table below.

1~2 Day 1 – Day 2 ž  Take a pill as soon as you remember

ž  Take the next pill at the usual time

3 or more First 2 weeks ž  Take a pill as soon as you remember

3 rd week ž  Do not finish the pack. Throw away remaining pills.

ž  Start the next pack.

ž  Take the next reminder pill at the usual time

For progestin-only pills, take one as soon as you remember, and take the next pill at the usual time. Use a back-up for 48 hours after taking the late pill.
